Liberal Democrat councillor Liz Townsend is working with Cranleigh Parish Council, Waverly Borough Council and Surrey County Council to deliver a range of improvements for the centre of Cranleigh.
The improvements will focus on the two junctions at either end of the High Street, horseshoe junction and obelisk junction, as well as updating and enhancing some of the existing public spaces along the High Street.
The proposals aim to improve road safety, increase biodiversity and encourage more people to spend longer in Cranleigh, therefore boosting our local economy and supporting our brilliant small businesses. The changes include wider pavements, more trees and new street furniture.
Work on the improvements is scheduled to start in Autumn 2023 and to be completed by spring 2025. You can find out more about the proposals for yourself by visiting cranleighhighstreet.commonplace.is.
If you have any questions or thoughts about the proposed improvements, please get in touch with Cllr Liz Townsend, who will be happy to discuss these plans with you.
