Paul's NHS campaign
When talking with residents in our area, the conversation usually turns to the NHS - with people experiencing long waits for specialist services, the difficulty of registering for an NHS dentist, or their loved ones being unable to access the services they need in time.
Please share your experiences of local NHS services with Paul so he can continue to campaign for improvements to our NHS.
For me, the future of our local health services is personal - both of my parents have had cancer. The treatment and care they both received was fantastic, but they were fortunate. Being able to access health care, as and when you need it, is so important.
Paul Follows and the Liberal Democrats have set out plans to invest £4 billion in NHS cancer treatment and guarantee that treatment starts within 62 days.
“The Conservatives have failed to hit their cancer targets since 2015. The Lib Dems will make it a legal guarantee that treatment starts within two months.
“Our plan will save lives. We’ll speed up access to treatment and reduce the time it takes new drugs to become available.“The plan includes new radiotherapy machines, cutting the time for new medicines to reach patients, a new cancer research law, and better support for cancer patients and their families.”
Paul's NHS plan
Paul Follows and the Liberal Democrats have announced an NHS rescue plan that will improve our local health services.
1. Recruit, train and retain more doctors and nurses.
2. The legal right to see your GP within 7 days or 24 hours if urgent.
3. Finally put mental health on the same footing as physical health.
4. Reform NHS dentistry so that no one is forced to pay for private care.
The Lib Dem plan includes a legal right to see your GP within 7 days, or 24 hours if in urgent need, through the recruitment of 8,000 more GPs; more powers for pharmacists to prescribe medicines; and extra investment in social care, to ease the pressure on hospital waiting times.
Paul said: “The failure of the Conservatives to grasp the crisis in our NHS is simply unforgivable. We need a proper plan to free up hospital beds, reduce A&E delays and bring the NHS back from the brink.”
Yes, I'm backing Paul Follows!
Let Paul know that you'll be supporting him and the Liberal Democrats at the General Election on 4th July. With your support at the ballot box, we hope to win a progressive and forward-looking MP in Westminster.
