Mark Merryweather for Farnham Moor Park & Badshot Lea

Mark is standing for re-election on Thursday 4th May to Waverley Borough Council and Farnham Town Council, after four successful years of delivery for residents.

He has been proud to represent Weybourne and Badshot Lea on both Waverley and Farnham councils since 2019. Boundary changes mean that much of this area is now in Moor Park ward, where he is now standing for re-election, hoping to continue his hard work for residents.

All of our candidates are standing behind our Building Opportunity manifesto to deliver better public services, quality social housing and investment into our high streets and training.

Over the last four years, Mark (right) has been the Waverley administration’s Finance portfolio-holder and, with substantial private sector business experience, he believes in basic financial competence. The Lib Dem-led council has balanced the budgets and maintained services with no cuts (and even supplemented them) despite unprecedented pressures. Mark will continue to speak out for areas like ours outside of Farnham’s town centre to be treated fairly.

These elections in May are for local government, but Farnham Town Council has wrestled with the impacts of wider issues like Brexit, Covid and inflation while maintaining, even expanding, its local events and facilities. It’s frustrating that the Council doesn’t have primary powers over most infrastructure, but we hold those who do to account.

Mark will continue speaking out against inappropriate development, and for the basics like road repairs and better from the Farnham Infrastructure Project. He work with all Councillors for Badshot Lea and Moor Park’s residents.

Keep up with Mark's activities and news on his Facebook page.
