Our Hindhead & Beacon Hill team

The Hindhead Lib Dem team are standing for re-election on Thursday 4th May for Waverley Borough and Haslemere Town Councils this May, and hope you'll back them to continue their hard work representing the area and keeping in touch with residents.

All of our candidates are standing behind our Building Opportunity manifesto to deliver better public services, quality social housing and investment into our high streets and training.

Jerome Davidson

Jerome Davidson is standing for re-election to Waverley Borough Council and Haslemere Town Council this May.

Living in Hindhead for thirty years, Jerome has devoted more time since retirement to his interests in education (as a governor now of Beacon Hill and previously of Woolmer Hill school) and local charities and was first elected to Waverley in 2019.

Development is inevitable and Jerome is most concerned that Hindhead evolves appropriately with adequate facilities to support our community. He will work to halt the conversion to dwellings of our shops, restaurants, sports and social facilities that are so vital to support our community; additional protection for Beacon Hill was recently implemented but continued vigilance is essential.

Julian Spence

Julian is standing for re-election to Waverley Borough Council, after a successful by-election in June 2022.

Julian Spence went to school in Hindhead and for 25 years has lived in Churt with his wife and their two children. Recently retired from a career in risk management and insurance, Julian was elected as a Waverley councillor in last year’s by-election.

He is passionate about keeping Hindhead and Beacon Hill places we can all be proud of, so launched a ‘clean up Hindhead’ initiative. This included reporting potholes, actioning water leaks, overgrown vegetation, broken signs and abandoned vehicles, which has already resulted in some improvements.

You can keep up with Julian's activities on his Facebook page.

Conrad Waters

Conrad is standing for re-election to Haslemere Town Council in May, also after a successful by-election win in 2022.

Conrad has lived in Hindhead for nearly three decades, an area he is passionate about. He was a councillor in the 1990s with many achievements to his name, including investment in play areas and public spaces, working with the team that delivered Haslemere Leisure Centre, and gained funding for the Hindhead Tunnel.

He then took a break from politics to build a successful career in finance and as an author, until last summer, when he was delighted to be elected to rejoin the town council. Conrad's priority now is to support Hindhead and Beacon Hill’s interests during these challenging times.
