Liz Townsend for Cranleigh & Ewhurst

Liz Townsend is standing for re-election on Thursday 1st May 2025 to be your local representative in Cranleigh & Ewhurst.

As a dedicated County Councillor, I am standing for re-election based on a proven record of tangible results and a commitment to achieving more. Over the years, I have worked tirelessly to champion the needs of our community, engaging with residents and addressing their concerns throughout the year.

My recent achievements include securing funding for a new, safer pelican crossing on Ewhurst Road and implementing vital safety schemes for both Elmbridge and Alfold Roads. I led the successful traffic calming initiative at The Green in Ewhurst and, responding to residents’ concerns, advocated for reduced speed limits on our rural roads.

Recognising the lack of local services for families, I established a Cranleigh-based parent support group for children with additional needs. I have also been at the forefront of driving stronger climate action policies and continue to challenge Thames Water to reduce sewage discharges into our rivers and streams.

Looking ahead, I remain fully committed to addressing ongoing issues, including improving our crumbling roads and tackling inadequate mobile phone coverage.

As your County Councillor, I will continue to work hard for our community, striving for real, lasting improvements in the quality of life for all residents.

Keep up with Liz's hard work around the area through Facebook.
